An Unforgettable Experience.
Study Abroad at Victoria University of Wellington allows students the chance to study at a world-class institution while enjoying the benefits of living in a vibrant capital city at the heart of New Zealand.
Students have the opportunity to complete one or two semesters of their home degree with courses taken from Victoria’s academic portfolio. Students study side by side with New Zealanders and have the chance to take a varied course load with subjects taken across different faculties.
Victoria University is proud of its extensive selection of courses within the six Faculties: Architecture & Design, Commerce & Administration, Education, Law, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Science. You will find staff and other students friendly and approachable with student services second to none in New Zealand.
Study Abroad is not only about studying and you are encouraged to experience all that New Zealand has to offer. New Zealand is small enough to see in one trimester but diverse enough to offer constant surprises. Wellington is located in the centre of New Zealand and is a perfect stepping stone for both the North and South. Living with New Zealanders and other international students makes even normal daily life a rewarding and challenging experience.

Student Exchange
(For overseas students from exchange partners)
Victoria University of Wellington has a number of formal Student Exchange agreements with universities in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Exchange agreements are established between institutions to develop staff relationships and raise their respective international profiles in the areas of research and teaching. The agreements also enable students to study at an exchange university for one or two semesters whilst gaining credit for their home degree.
Exchange agreements are reciprocal; Victoria University sends students to partner universities abroad and also receives them. Students are chosen by their respective universities and nominated to the exchange partner for final acceptance. Each exchange partner waives tuition fees for its visiting students and students pay their normal tuition fees to their home university before departing on an exchange programme.
If your university appears in the list of our exchange partners, contact the International Office at your home university for information about application and selection requirements. You must first be selected by your university and nominated for the exchange before you can apply to Victoria University of Wellington.
